Instagram unavailable again for Russians without VPN
MOSCOW, Oct 14 (PRIME) -- Instagram, which is banned in Russia as extremist, has become unavailable again in the country without VPN, PRIME reported on Friday.
Media reported earlier that Instagram became available to some clients of the large operators, which coincided by timing with the period of maintenance of equipment that blocks websites. The information about the relevant works was mentioned in a letter by the Main Radio Frequency Center to one of the operators.
The country banned Instagram and Facebook, both owned by Meta, in late March after the U.S. giant temporarily authorized calls to violence against the Russian military, not against civilians, as it said then.
